On February 12, 2020 the Moody ISD administration recommended Coach Lonnie Judd of Keller Timber Creek High School to serve as the Districts Asst. AD and Head Football Coach.
Coach Judd is a graduate of Waco Midway High School and completed his Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master’s in Education from Baylor University. He is married to Lisa Judd and they have a son, Brandon and daughter in law, Stephanie. The Judd’s will be expecting their first grandchild this summer.
Coach Judd began his teaching/coaching career at Reicher Catholic High in Waco in 1991 where he coached Football, Head girls’ basketball, Head Track and Asst. Powerlifting coach.
From 1995-2009 Coach Judd worked at Waco Midway High school as a teacher / coach where he taught English IV and served as the Asst. Head Football Coach, Offensive Coordinator, 9th Grade Boys Basketball and Asst. Track Coach under legendary Midway coach Kent Bachtel.
In 2009 Coach Judd went to Keller ISD to help open the new Keller Timber Creek High School where he currently serves as Asst. Head Football Coach and Offensive Coordinator, Assistant Track Coach and former Head Wrestling Coach.
Statement from Coach Judd: “I’m extremely excited to become the Head Football Coach and Assistant Athletic Director at Moody. This is an opportunity for me to bring my brand of hard nosed exciting football that the athletes will enjoy playing and the fans will enjoy watching. My philosophy has always been to coach every athlete the way I would want my own son coached. I can’t wait to get started.”
Coach Judd will be transitioning in the coming weeks and plans to start his official duties in Moody ISD on Monday March 2, 2020.
